Promoting STEM education—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—in our public schools.
Expanding Oregon’s National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) and on-the-job training programs.
Increasing funding for Head Start so we can prepare more children from low-income families for kindergarten and improve their chances of success in school.
A historic $6.85 billion investment in K-12 education allowing most school districts to avoid further cuts to school days and teacher positions.
Adding $2 million investment in Career and Technical Education.
Helping to make college more affordable for Oregon families by creating the Oregon Student Opportunity Fund—a permanent and dedicated fund to finance additional aid to aspiring students.
Providing capital construction funding for safety projects at the U of O and for expansion of the new OSU Cascades Campus.
Helped create the OregonPromise program which allows two-years of almost tuition-free education at community colleges.
